ABC News is partnering with the conservative news site IJReview for a Republican primary debate, according to an announcement by IJReview on Wednesday.
The debate is scheduled to take place in New Hampshire in February. It is the seventh official Republican National Committee-sanctioned debate of the GOP presidential primary.
The RNC is requiring traditional broadcast news outlets to include some type of conservative media element for all of the debates.
IJReview’s announcement did not specify what role it will play in the debate, only that it will “utilize its signature brand of mobile-first original content to expand the viewership of the New Hampshire GOP primary debate to millions of Americans beyond the traditional ABC News television audience.”
“Every day at IJReview we strive to creatively jump to the center of the ring where American politics is being played, debated and discussed. This partnership with ABC allows us 360-degree access to one of the biggest arenas in the game,” IJReview Executive Editor Michelle Jaconi said in the announcement.
“Before, during and after this debate, we plan to do what IJReview does best: engage more and more Americans in the political conversation — in a way that makes them want to share the news,” she said.
