Silverdocs, the weeklong documentary film festival based in Silver Spring, was off to a smart if slightly nerdy start Monday night with the D.C. premiere of the documentary “Freakonomics.”
The film brought together six filmmakers to tackle chunks of the popular 2005 book written by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. Filmmakers Alex Gibney, Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing came to the area for the screening. Directors Seth Gordon, Morgan Spurlock and Eugene Jarecki also contributed segments to the film.
