Disgraced former professional road racing cyclist Lance Armstrong bragged on Saturday about a weekend incident in which he overtook Vice President Mike Pence on a Nantucket, Massachusetts, bike path.
“I can’t drop many people on a bike these days but I just blew the f–kin’ doors off Mike Pence on a Nantucket bike path. Day. Made,” Armstrong said in a tweet.

Armstrong, 47, was stripped of seven Tour de France titles in 2012 after an investigation by the United States Anti-Doping Agency concluded that he had participated in what proved to be the biggest doping scandal in cycling history.
Armstrong, once considered one of the greatest cyclists of all time, was charged with using performance enhancing drugs as well as trafficking them. He is said to have lost $75 million in sponsorship money in one day.
Pence, 60, is said to be on Nantucket for a joint fundraiser between the Republican National Committee and the Campaign to Reelect Donald Trump. The event, scheduled to take place Saturday evening, will be hosted by RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
Many were critical of Armstrong’s braggadocio on Saturday in light of his scandalous past.
“You literally cheated to get famous and now you’re bragging about going faster on a bike than a guy who’s never raced in his life. Nice, dude,” said political commentator Caleb Hull.

“Remember when you lost all your titles because you’re a cheater? Pepperidge Farm remembers,” said Jessica Fletcher, a social media manager at the Daily Caller.

“Some people can’t take a joke or even having a little fun on twitter. Lightin’ the f–k up people. But seriously, I did blow his doors off!!” Armstrong said amid the backlash.

Armstrong settled a fraud lawsuit with the U.S. government in 2018 for $5 million to avoid potentially being liable for $100 million.
“A competitor who intentionally uses illegal PEDs not only deceives fellow competitors and fans, but also sponsors, who help make sporting competitions possible,” said attorney Chad Readler at the time. “This settlement demonstrates that those who cheat the government will be held accountable.”
