Clinton rape accuser criticizes Hillary

As the ghosts of Bill Clinton’s sexual past have begun to resurface on the campaign trail, a woman who has accused the former president of rape took to Twitter to say Hillary Clinton tried to “silence” her.

“I was 35 years old when Bill Clinton, Ark. Attorney General raped me and Hillary tried to silence me. I am now 73… it never goes away,” Juanita Broaddrick tweeted on Wednesday.

In 1998, Broaddrick alleged that Clinton raped her in an Arkansas hotel during the 1970s. While Broaddrick’s allegations have never been confirmed, Kathleen Wiley has also accused Clinton of sexual assault and Paul Jones accused him of sexual harassment. He had extramarital affairs with Gennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky, the latter taking place while she was a White House intern during his presidency.

Since the New Year, Hillary Clinton has been heckled for her husband’s sexual past and Republican front-runner Donald Trump likened Bill Clinton to Bill Cosby, who has been accused of raping multiple women.

The allegations come as Bill Clinton joins Hillary on the campaign trail this week in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Although Broaddrick hasn’t spoken to the public about Clinton since a 1999 interview, media outlets have verified it is her Twitter account.

“Hurray for Katherine Prudhomme confronting Hillary,” Broaddrick tweeted after Hillary was confronted for her husband’s sexual conduct on Sunday. She added that she “was dreading seeing my abuser on tv campaign trial for enabler wife…but his physical appearance reflects ghosts of past are catching up.”

The former secretary of state has often spoken of sexual assault on the campaign trail and an effort to curb rape on college campuses, with the tag line “You have the right to be heard, believed and supported.”
