A personal friend of President Trump pushed back on speculation the White House was in chaos Sunday, but revealed the president was still considering making “one or two major changes” to his administration “very soon.”
“He told me he thinks the White House is operating like a smooth machine — his words,” Christopher Ruddy, the founder and CEO of Newsmax Media, told ABC regarding a conversation he had with Trump on Saturday. “He did say that he’s expecting to make one or two major changes to his government very soon and that’s going to be it.”
Trump confidante @ChrisRuddyNMX says he spoke with the president yesterday and that Trump is “perplexed” by reports there is “chaos at the White House,” adding: “He’s expecting to make one or two major changes to his government very soon.” https://t.co/VJUUPsPY49 #ThisWeek pic.twitter.com/KWPqaBAsUK

Ruddy added other sources in the West Wing suggested to him Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin could be the next Trump official to leave the administration, after the high-profile exits of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and national security adviser H.R. McMaster earlier in March.
Shulkin has been the subject of intense scrutiny after his department’s inspector-general found he improperly used taxpayer funds for a trip to Europe with his wife in July.
“But other reports, people like Ben Carson, I’m told that the president is happy with the job he’s doing, he will be staying, chief of staff Kelly, the president is happy with the job he is doing, he will be staying,” Ruddy continued.
