Krauthammer: Hillary Clinton email release ‘a farce,’ ‘she shredded the evidence’

The State Department released Friday some 300 previously classified emails belonging to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and conservative author Charles Krauthammer is deeply unimpressed, saying “this whole release is a farce.”

Federal officials released the correspondences, which were sent and received by Clinton over an unauthorized private server that she used for the entirety of her time at the State Department, in response to inquiries from congressional investigators.

Clinton enthusiastically greeted the release of the emails, saying this week that she wants the public to see that she has nothing to hide.

Though the State Department’s release contained a few notable revelations, including that Clinton had, in fact, received classified information regarding the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, Krauthammer said Friday that it’s all a “farce.”

There won’t be any bombshell revelations regarding the Democratic presidential candidate, he said.

It’s all controlled, he said.

“There isn’t a shred of evidence,” he said, “because she shredded the evidence. This whole release is a farce.”

The Fox News contributor alleged that the only emails that the public will see are the ones that have been “scrubbed and cleansed and decided upon, chosen by her own people, acting in her own interest.”

Krauthammer predicted that if a Republican candidate tries later to use the meager findings in the State Department’s Friday email release to attack Clinton, she will then be able to claim that it’s old news, effectively kneecapping the attack.
