Melissa Rossi is a former National Geographic Traveler columnist and special correspondent for Newsweek. She’s the author of the new book, “What Every American Should Know About The Middle East,” a primer which bring readers up-to-date on the region.

Q: What CD are you currently listening to?

Alas, I can’t listen to music when writing, and I’m always writing.  Last one I bought was Nirvana’s “Nevermind,” if that shows how behind the times I am musically.

Can’t recall, but the next will be “Milk.”
