The CBS crime show “NCIS” filmed at the White House Monday, with the help of the first lady.
Washington Post photographer Greg Mathieson recognized actor Mark Harmon, who plays Special Agent Gibbs, as he was leaving the White House earlier Monday.
Harmon let slip that the show was filming a scene at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., including a scene that will feature Michelle Obama.
Obama has appeared on TV shows before, including cameos on Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” and NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.”
Politicians have a rich history of doing cameos on television shows, from Al Gore on “30 Rock” to Michael Bloomberg on “The Good Wife” to Nancy Reagan on “Diff’rent Strokes.”
“Parks and Recreation” had multiple politicians interact with hyperactive small-town politician Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) besides Obama, including Sen. John McCain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Vice President Joe Biden.
