The players and the coaches of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears linked arms during the national anthem at Thursday night’s NFL football game.
The display was the latest demonstration of unity after President Trump sparked controversy nearly a week ago when he said players who kneel during the National Anthem should be fired. That trend started last season when former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick he took a knee during the national anthem to protest the treatment of African Americans and other minorities in the U.S.
