Hillary Clinton’s armored black van is expected to grace the campaign trail this week as part of the Democratic presidential candidate’s two-day driving tour through Appalachia.
The former secretary of state herself dubbed the vehicle the “Scooby Van.” She said it reminded her of the Mystery Machine from the 1960s TV show.
It made its debut last April during a campaign road trip from Clinton’s upstate New York home to Iowa’s corn country. Clinton has since used it for local events near her residence.
Scooby has been tapped to transport Clinton and top aides on her tour through Kentucky, West Virginia and southern Ohio on Monday and Tuesday.
Indiana residents will vote in the state’s primary Tuesday. But Clinton will be hundreds of miles away in the final 36 hours of the race despite being neck-in-neck with Sanders.
“I want you to keep imagining a tomorrow where instead of building walls, we are breaking down barriers. We are making it more likely that Americans will be part of a prosperous, inclusive, decent society,” Clinton said during her victory speech in Philadelphia last Tuesday after winning four of the five primary races.
She will meet with voters in Ashland, Ky.; Williamson, W.Va.; and Athens, Ohio, at events in an Italian restaurant, wellness centers and brewery. Clinton will tout her plan for economic recovery in rural regions.
