Keep it short and funny. That’s what the editor must have told the the New York Post reporter announcing the long-awaited Kimye wedding.
Kimye, the Kim Kardashian/Kanye West power couple, married in Italy on Saturday. Perhaps more entertaining than the wedding itself was the Post’s short blurb about it in Sunday’s paper.
“ALERT (yawn): Kimye Weds,” read the headline.
“Two jackasses got married in Italy Saturday. Sex-tape star Kim Kardashian, 33, wed egotist Kanye West, 36, in a wedding opulent enough for Florence’s Medici dynasty and tacky enough for reality TV,” the article explained.
The Post didn’t hold back any punches.
“The Republic still stands,” concluded the short article.
The Post’s write up garnered much attention on Twitter.
