The Republicans will be holding their convention in Cleveland in less than a month. One would think that the party would want to do whatever it takes to make a good impression upon the host city, especially since Ohio is one of those battleground states. One sure way not to make a good impression would be to tamper with the city’s icons. Right now and far, no doubt, into the future, the most sacred of those icons would be one LeBron James.

The sign has been there since James rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now that he has brought the city its first championship in over half a century … well, it might not be the most propitious time to replace his image with one that celebrates a political party that is not, by a long ways, in championship form.
