A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a Ride On bus while walking across a street in Rockville.
Montgomery County police said 63-year-old Jila Hamidieh was crossing at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Halpine Road when a Ride On bus turned right into the northbound lanes of Rockville Pike from Halpine Road.
The collision happened at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Hamidieh was taken to Suburban Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A police spokesman said late Thursday morning that Hamidieh was alive, but no other update on her condition was available.
Police said the crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed against the bus driver, 58-year-old Fredy Velasquez.
