Watch: Sanders backers get rowdy at Nevada convention

Upset at new rules, Bernie Sanders supporters caused quite a stir Saturday at the Nevada State Democratic convention.

Disputes erupted over a vote to make a set of temporary convention rules permanent. Sanders supporters blatantly opposed the new rules, while Hillary Clinton supporter and the party’s chairwoman, Roberta Lange, supported them.

Several dozen Sanders supporters shouted, “this is fixed” and “no confidence” at the Democratic Party officials leading the convention, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

At one point, California Sen. Barbara Boxer was booed by the crowd of Sanders supporters while speaking on behalf of Clinton. She urged Nevada Democrats to unite behind Clinton so the party could go on to defeat presumed Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Boxer called Sanders “a friend,” and told them their boos were boos for Sanders.

The 35 individual delegates who will go to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia to represent Nevada were selected Saturday. The state also sends eight superdelegates.

Twenty-three of those 35 were already appointed based on Nevada caucusgoers, who gave Clinton 13 and Sanders 10 in February. The other 12 are picked based on Saturday’s conventiongoers’ votes.

Sanders supporters also said the count of delegates attending the convention put Clinton at an unfair advantage. Early reports said Clinton supporters slightly outnumbered Sanders’ on Saturday, 1,618 to 1,475.
