The 9:30 Club won’t be a typical after-dark hot spot on Sunday. Instead, the venue will host Thievery Corporation’s Eric Hilton, celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn and Batala, a Brazilian drum troupe, for Sound Bites, an event benefiting the DC Central Kitchen. The $40 admission for the 5 p.m. event includes food and entertainment from Hilton, Fur, Feathers, Bone and Nappy Riddem. The event will also be the site of a cocktail competition.
