Bank executive arrested over handgun at BWI Police charged a Maryland bank executive and soccer team owner after a loaded handgun was found in his carry-on luggage at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Edwin F. Hale Sr., 64, is facing charges of interfering with security procedures and violating security regulations because of the Friday incident, said police spokeswoman Cheryl Sparks.
Hale is chairman of Baltimore’s First Mariner Bancorp and the owner of the Baltimore Blast indoor soccer team.
Maryland man facing peeping Tom charges
A 35-year-old Anne Arundel County man is facing 21 burglary and peeping Tom charges.
Charles Novak of Crofton was arrested in December when a resident reported finding a man sitting in a car in her garage.
Novak had a camera at the time with videos of nude people who did not appear to be aware they were being recorded
Officers subsequently searched Novak’s house and found evidence, including a girl’s underwear, linking him to other burglaries, police said.
13-year-old remains missing
Authorities are still looking for a 13-year-old girl Prince George’s County girl who went missing Jan. 12.
Diamond Scott left her home in the 17000 block of Livingston Road in Accokeek last month shortly before midnight, according to police. Family members have not seen or heard from her, and she has also not shown up at school since then.
Police spokesman Cpl. Henry Tippett described Scott as “an avid Facebook user,” but said detectives found her social networking account shut down after she went missing. Still, he said authorities have not found any evidence suggesting foul play.
At the time of her disappearance, Scott was wearing a black coat, bluejeans, purple scarf, purple backpack and gray and black tennis shoes, police said. — Alex Pappas. AP contributed to this report.
