Police fatally shoot naked man who stabbed police dog to death: ‘He’s got a machete!’

Seattle police shot and killed a machete-brandishing suspect who was wearing only a towel after he stabbed a police dog to death and injured an officer.

Police responded to a 911 call on Jan. 5 at around 2 p.m. about a burglary suspect armed with a knife.

“He’s got a machete,” the caller told the 911 operator.

Law enforcement video of the incident shows the shocking moments when several officers encountered the man wielding a machete and a large stick.

“Stop now,” an officer holding a K-9 on a leash shouts at the suspect. “Stop! Get on the ground! Do it now!” The suspect ignores the officer’s orders and continues to walk along the road.

Officers released the K-9 on the suspect, who then stabbed the dog several times before officer Tim Jones, a 15-year veteran of the force, fatally shot him. The suspect managed to stab one of the officers in the face in the scramble.
