Cops: ‘Wear and Display Blue’ Friday to support killed officers, protest NFL

The nation is being urged to wear and display blue on Friday to show support for the police shot in three states this week and to protest the “anti-police” Super Bowl halftime show.

“Spread the Word: Stand With Law Enforcement – Wear and Display BLUE,” said the National Sheriffs’ Association.

On their webpage they urge supporters to show their blue at 1 p.m. Eastern.

“The National Sheriffs’ Association encourages all law enforcement professionals, first responders, supporters and citizens to please Wear and Display Blue this FRIDAY – and join us in a moment of silence to honor and remember the sacrifice of our fallen deputies and officers from Colorado, Maryland and North Dakota at 1PM EDT.

“The senseless killing of four law enforcement officers just this week – on the heels of the anti-police ‘entertainment’ at the Sunday Super Bowl halftime show – reminds us that the men and women in law enforcement take a solemn oath that includes putting their lives on the line everyday to protect our citizens.”

In Maryland, two Harford County deputies were shot and killed. In North Dakota, a Fargo police officer suffered a “non-survivable” wound investigating a domestic case, and in Colorado, a Mesa County deputy also suffered a “non-survivable” wound in a shooting.

The association this week condemned the NFL for letting Beyonce sing her new hit “Formation,” which they see as anti-police. They also rapped President Obama for not speaking out on the responsibilities of citizens when confronted with a police request.
