Sean Spicer has “no desire” to work for the Trump administration again.
A year after he resigned as White House press secretary, Spicer said during an interview with the Washington Post that he enjoyed his time in the Trump administration, but certain circumstances disqualify a return.
“I mean, is that the timeline that I envisioned at the outset? No,” Spicer said after the Post’s Joe Heim noted that he only worked there for about six months. “I enjoyed my time, but from a personal and a family standpoint I have no desire to do that again.”
Spicer currently lives in Alexandria, Va., with his wife and two children.
Spicer did the interview to promote his forthcoming book, “The Briefing,” out Tuesday. Heim posited that the book appears to be a “lengthy job application” and suggested Spicer does want to work for Trump again.
“I would wholeheartedly disagree with that. I really was honored to do it, but there’s a lot of things that I’ve had the opportunity to do and I’m glad I did them, but I’ve moved on, and this was only one of them,” Spicer said.
Spicer left the White House last July after Anthony Scaramucci was hired as communications director, but he dismissed having any animus towards the man known as “The Mooch.”
“I didn’t really have anything against Anthony personally, and to be honest, I didn’t know him that well,” Spicer said.
