David Axelrod: Obama administration has never had a ‘major scandal’

David Axelrod appears to be sucking up to Obama after making some rather unsavory claims about the president in his newly-released memoir.

The former Obama advisor alleged during a recent speech at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics that the Obama administration has not produced “a major scandal” in its six years in the White House, as reports BuzzFeed.

Specifically, Axelrod was asked by a member of the crowd whether or not the administration has been able to shut the “revolving door” between lobbyists and White House officials during Obama’s time in office.

“The rule has basically been that there’s been a ban on the revolving door and there’s these two-year strictures against such a revolving door,” explained Axelrod.

While he couldn’t say that the policy is completely faultless and “pristine,” Axelrod insisted that it has “absolutely” been “lightyears different” than in previous administrations.

“I’m proud of the fact that basically you’ve had an administration that’s been in its place for six years in which there hasn’t been a major scandal,” alleged Axelrod. “And, I think that says a lot about the ethical strictures of this administration.”

Axelrod was imaginably trying to redeem himself for suggesting in his memoir “Believer: My Forty Years in Politics” that Obama misled the American people regarding his stance on gay marriage back in 2008 — a claim that Obama himself disputed after the book’s publication.

However, in doing so, the former Obama advisor apparently forgot about a myriad of what many would define as scandals, including the president’s Obamacare lies, the Veterans Affairs fake wait lists, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS conservative-group targeting, among others.
