Donald Trump Jr. insists his father will win New York

New York has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1984. But Donald Trump Jr. said he expects his father to swing the state back to red this November.

“I literally have not heard a single negative comment in New York City, but I have so many people that are flagrant about ‘hey, I’m a Democrat, I’ve always voted Democrat, but I’ve seen what your father’s done,'” Trump Jr. told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren in Cleveland Tuesday night.

The prediction came just an hour after the billionaire businessman officially received the nomination from the GOP.

The eldest Trump son said New Yorkers and Americans alike are tired of the “incompetence” they have seen for decades from politicians. The 38-year-old insisted Trump’s jumping in to save failed government projects has gained the trust of Empire State residents.

“These people, New Yorkers, even though they may might not necessarily be conservatives, they understand his track record of accomplishments and when he says he’s gonna do something he just does it. And I think that’s gonna make a big difference for us there,” Trump Jr. finished.
