VIDEO: Weekend recap — Good news for GOP in Iowa

The Republican Party received good news over the weekend in Iowa as a new poll shows Republican candidate for Senate Joni Ernst with a four-point lead over her Democratic challenger Rep. Bruce Braley.

The poll, conducted by the Des Moines Register, shows Ernst with a 44 percent to 38 percent lead over Braley with 12 percent undecided. The poll comes on the same weekend that the two met in the Hawkeye State for the campaign’s first Senate debate.

On Sunday night, Braley and Ernst shared the stage and traded barbs and ideas over what’s best for Iowans. Braley defended his voting record in Washington while Ernst defended attacks that she’s an extreme, Tea Party candidate.
