Two Miss Universe contestants are engaged in a social media fight of sorts because of a selfie.
Miss Israel Doron Matalon posted a photo on Instagram on January 11 of herself with Miss Lebanon Saly Greige along with Miss Slovenia and Miss Japan.
According to NBC, Lebanese TV station Al Jadeed knocked Greige for posting the photo despite the fact that Israel and Lebanon are enemies.
The beauty queen then responded days later on Facebook to expose the “truth behind the photo.”
Post by Saly Greige.
“Since the first day of my arrival to participate to Miss Universe, I was very cautious to avoid being in any photo or communication with Miss Israel (that tried several times to have a photo with me),” wrote Greige. “I was having a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia and myself; suddenly Miss Israel jumped in, took a selfie, and put it on her social media.”
Unsurprisingly, Matalon was not happy and hit back at Greige with her own Facebook post.
Post by Doron Matalon.
“It doesn’t surprise me, but it still makes me sad,” Matalon detailed. “Too bad you can not put the hostility out of the game, only for three weeks of an experience of a lifetime that we can meet girls from around the world and also from the neighboring country.”
The pageant will air January 25, hopefully without any cat fights.
