» The Giants have owned the line of scrimmage. Albert Haynesworth is having no impact up front at all.
» Interesting; Bruce Allen is in the coach’s box watching the game.
» Do the Giants know all the Redskins plays or does it just seem that way? Terrell Thomas came off his man on the slant route to Devin Thomas and would have had a touchdown.
» New York is doing a good job of exploiting the cover 2 by throwing screens. It happened again on the second play of New York’s second series this quarter. Went to cover 2. Screen pass. Eight yard gain.
» Phil Daniels was blown up when Kevin Boothe, subbing for Seubert, pulled around right end on Brandon Jacobs’ 10-yard gain.
» Guessing Fred Smoot could not plant and drive on that near-interception in the end zone. The footing where he was standing is terrible. Very, very soggy.
» OK, so Haynesworth finally did make an impact. Helped that Orakpo tried to shoot inside and by doing so, opened a lane for Haynesworth to go a little wider. It worked as he got the sack. It’s the first time Washington has applied pressure.
» Devin Thomas was back on kickoff returns after Rock Cartwright did it the previous time. The way they’re going, they may have a lot of chances to alternate.
» The Redskins aren’t doing the little things right at all. On Quinton Ganther’s first-down run, Malcolm Kelly completely missed his block. May not have mattered, but it’s an indication of their execution thus far.
» That was a tough blitz by the Giants; tough for Quinton Ganther to get there in time. Not sure what could have been done – maybe had the line recognized it, someone could have slowed him down enough for Ganther to get there. Regardless, an easy sack.
» Give Stephon Heyer credit for playing on a bad knee, but he’s just not good – with healthy knees. Justin Tuck will continue to apply pressure all game. All game.
» And now we learn that Heyer is questionable to return because of his knee.
» Good lord, the Giants make it look easy. Note to self: never pick Washington again in this game. Never, ever, ever. One thing to remember: even if the Giants’ lines are having tougher than expected seasons, they’re still better than Washington up front.
» The one thing they could not allow vs. New York’s receivers were yards after the catch. So on Hakeem Nicks’ 45-yard catch, safety Kareem Moore takes a bad angle and allows a lot of yards after the catch.
» Campbell is getting hit hard. Once more, the right side of Washington’s line is having a hard time with stunts. Can’t blame Will Robinson, who is in a tough position. For a good team, he would still be on a practice squad. But he got drilled by Mathias Kiwanuka on the stunt. And Campbell then got drilled by Kiwanuka as well.
» All we heard about before this game was how much the Giants’ D-line had been struggling. Would never guess that tonight. Of course, the Giants have two words to describe the Redskins’ line: slump busters.
» The problems are all across the line. Guard Mike Williams has been beaten on a few occasions. It’s not even worth writing about it anymore; they’re a bad front.
» They’re why Campbell is out with a shoulder injury.
» Levi Jones has lost a lot of money tonight. Not that he was in line for a big contract from any team this offseason. But whatever he was going to get, it has gone way down tonight. He can’t react to moves.
» Honestly, that last play was the worst I’ve seen. I know it worked in the first meeting, but after the first game did they really think a fake would work? Just get the points. That play summed up the difference between these teams. That looked amateurish.
