It was reported here today — buried, but reported — that Wizards head coach Flip Saunders’ staff is now slated to include ex-Wolves coach Randy Wittman, ex-Wolves guard Sam Cassell and Saunders’ son, Ryan, a former Minnesota Gophers assistant.
The staff has not been officially named yet, and Cassell has been linked with Saunders for the last month. But I can report to you that indeed Cassell was seen at Verizon Center this afternoon.
We’ll have to see if more details come out during Wiz president Ernie Grunfeld’s chat with the press, which should start in a few minutes.
