Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted that Obamacare might cause “some men and younger customers [to] see their rates increase,” in regard to health care insurance costs. But the White House refused today to address Sebelius’s comments, and would only insist that health care costs will be lowered because of Obamacare.
Here’s a White House spokesman, Josh Earnest, being asked about the comments today:
“What I would actually point you to is,” he said. “I would actually point to the results that we’re already seeing from the Affordable Care Act, which is the savings of $2.1 billion and the analysis from the CBO that actually says in the future we’re going to see rates that are lower, for higher benefits.”
Earnest claimed he hadn’t seen Sebelius’s remarks.
