CEDAR HILL, Texas (AP) — A man armed with a battle of flammable liquid set himself and a police officer ablaze before another officer shot him in a suburban Dallas shopping strip.
City spokesman Corky Brown says three officers were burned, with one being airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. The suspect also was taken to Parkland.
Police say officers pursued the man as a suspect in a nearby burglary when he fled into a chicken wing shop. The officers followed and tried to subdue the suspect, but he was able to set himself and the police scrum on fire. Police Lt.
