The Bethesda teenager who was arrested last week on weapons and explosives charges has now been charged with carjacking.
Colin McKenzie-Gude, 18, a 2008 graduate of St. John’s College High School in Washington, is now charged with the carjacking of a 78-year-old man at White Flint Mall last week.
Police said the elderly man was knocked to the ground after he refused to give up the keys to his car.
During a raid at the home of McKenzie-Gude, authorities said they seized four assault rifles, two shotguns, a handgun and chemicals to make explosives. They also found a list of the addresses of his high school’s students and letterhead from the Montgomery County Police Department. That led authorities to also charge a 17-year-old Gaithersburg teen who was a student intern with the police department.
