Trump headed back to Mar-a-Lago for Easter

President Trump will return to Mar-a-Lago for Easter weekend, marking his seventh trip to the sprawling beachside resort since taking office.

The president told guests at Trump International Golf Course in Palm Beach, Fla. last weekend that he would be back for Easter, according to local media reports.

He spent last Thursday and Friday conducting bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mar-a-Lago and returned to Washington on Sunday.

Trump has faced increased scrutiny for his travel and golf habits since he routinely criticized his predecessor for ditching the White House on the weekends to hit the links. It was reported earlier Tuesday that Trump is on track to surpass President Obama’s total travel costs over eight years in his first year alone.

The president will likely return to Washington on Sunday in preparation for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 17.
