Gowdy: Clinton not necessarily ‘cooperative,’ ‘accurate’

Benghazi Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy was asked Sunday if he thought Hillary Clinton was a “cooperative witness” in last week’s hearing, and declined to say she was.

“She answered the questions, yeah, if that’s your definition of ‘cooperative,'” Gowdy said to host Chuck Todd on “Meet The Press” on NBC. “I’ve always injected an element of wholeness and completeness, and also a truthfulness in the definition of ‘cooperative.'”

“I gave her an opportunity to tell me where the ninety to ninety-five percent figure comes from. She’s wrong about that. Did she cooperate in answering the question? Yes. Was it an accurate answer? No,” Gowdy said, referencing an exchange he had with Clinton in this week’s hearing.

Gowdy reiterated his concern Sunday that though Clinton has taken “responsibility,” he’s not clear on what she is taking responsibility for.

“When she’s asked whether she’s taking responsibility, she says ‘yes,'” Gowdy said. “But when she’s asked ‘Responsibility for what,’ I can’t tell you what she’s taking responsibility for.”
