Sarah Palin: Eliminate all energy subsidies

RCP’s Scott Conoy picks up this latest nugget from Sarah Palin’s ‘One Nation’ bus tour:

“I think that all of our energy subsidies need to be relooked at today and eliminated,” Palin told RCP during a quick stop at a coffee shop in this picturesque town tucked into the south-central Pennsylvania countryside. “And we need to make sure that we’re investing and allowing our businesses to invest in reliable energy products right now that aren’t going to necessitate subsidies because, bottom line, we can’t afford it.”

Energy subsidies are an important issue for 2012 campaigners. Tim Pawlenty surprised many earlier this month as he called for an end to ethanol subsidies while campaigning in Iowa. Mitt Romney suggested in Iowa over the weekend that such subsidies were an important part of our nation’s energy future.
