Ron Paul supporters can celebrate a moral victory today: He is prominently featured in the New York Times.

‘Niche Voters Giving Paul Momentum in Iowa Polls’ reads the headline, as reporter Trip Gabriel speaks with recent Ron Paul converts such as small business owners, military veterans, and homeschoolers.

An example:

Mr. Walsh felt squeamish coming out as a Paul supporter. “The reaction is, ‘Oh, the guy is fringe, he’s crazy,’ “ he said. “People tell me, ‘You’re throwing away your vote.’ I said to myself: ‘Chuck, you wore the uniform, you fought for the right to vote. If you’re voting with your heart, I don’t think you’re throwing away your vote.’

The article is just one example of Paul stories this week, taking a look at serious look at Ron Paul’s momentum in the GOP presidential primary after an Iowa poll released this week by Bloomberg News showed Herman Cain at 20% and Ron Paul at 19%.

As alternatives to Mitt Romney implode, it appears that GOP voters in Iowa are giving Ron Paul another look.
