Obama not aging fast, expert says

President Obama is not aging any faster than normal, according to an expert who has done research on how presidents age.

“Those of us that are in that our 50s and 60s — I’m sorry. We’re all aging; he’s just part of the crowd,” S. Jay Olshansky, an expert on human longevity and aging at the University of Illinois at Chicago, told the Los Angeles Times.

Despite the immense stress they face in their jobs, presidents in general age at about the same rate as the rest of the population, Olshansky said.

In fact, computer software that calculates a person’s “face age” gives Obama a ranking lower than his real age of 53, the professor told the Times.
