The Orioles traded veteran right-handed pitcher Steve Trachsel to the Chicago Cubs Friday in exchange for third baseman Scott Moore and right-handed pitcher Rocky Cherry.
Both players have spent the majority of the season with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs. Moore and Cherry are expected to join the Orioles for their weekend series in Boston, where they can be activated Saturday when rosters can expand to as many as 40 players for the remainder of the regular season.
