WASHINGTON (AP) — Thousands of motorcyclists are headed for a rally in the nation’s capital to honor victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks 13 years ago.
They’re calling Thursday’s event on the National Mall “2 Million Bikers to D.C.”
National organizer Belinda Bee isn’t promising that big a turnout, but she says she’s hoping for a bigger showing than last year, when thousands of riders contributed to traffic jams in and around Washington.
The group portrays the rally as a patriotic effort to ensure that the coordinated attack involving four hijacked jetliners is never forgotten.
