WILLIAM HITE

The chief of Prince George’s County schools has been appointed to the National Parent Teacher Association’s board of directors. Superintendent Hite’s term will run through 2013. He will work with the other PTA leaders to boost family engagement, direct policy, and determine best practices for PTAs across the country. Hite has led Prince George’s County Public Schools, the second-largest district in Maryland, since December 2008.
