The CIA has infiltrated Westeros.
Former Deputy Director of the CIA David Cohen made a cameo appearance on HBO’s hit show “Game of Thrones” Sunday evening.
Cohen, who served as the deputy director of the spy agency for a time under former President Barack Obama, appeared in the about-to-be-besieged city of Winterfell standing in line to get a bowl of soup from Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) before being drafted into the show’s ragtag army.
The CIA’s official Twitter account blew the former spy’s cover before the show aired, though, sending out a photo of Cohen during his cameo appearance.
“A perk of working for CIA is world travel. Apparently that sometimes extends to other realms… ‘Little birds,’ be on the lookout for a former deputy director of ours wandering through #Westeros in tonight’s episode of #GameOfThrones,” the CIA tweeted.

Cohen now works as a partner at the Washington law firm WilmerHale. He also appears on TV news, and after his debut on the hit show, he appears to be back to business Monday, tweeting: “Back from Winterfell: Looking forward to appearing on @mitchellreports today to discuss the Trump administration’s efforts to push Iranian oil imports to zero.”
