Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is willing to bet he would beat President Barack Obama in a bowling match.

The senator and likely 2016 presidential hopeful describes himself as an “average” bowler. “Good enough to not be bad, but not good enough to be great,” he told The Hill.

Yet, he’s confident that his bowling skills surpass the president’s.

“I think I can beat the president,” he told The Hill. “You remember the stories about him bowling?”

That last comment is a reference to the time Obama hit the bowling alley during his 2008 campaign trail and bowled a total score of 37.

“He wasn’t the best of bowlers,” Paul joked.

Bowling has recently become a popular pastime for everyone in the Paul family, except wife Kelley, who isn’t a fan of the sport.

If Paul does take the presidency in 2016, he might want to reinstate a contract to fix up the White House’s bowling alley, which hasn’t been repaired in over 15 years. The contract was abruptly cancelled this summer.
