Rosie O’Donnell tweeted out a negative article about herself. Is she conceding to committing a felony?

I‘m not sure how it came to this, but Rosie O’Donnell tweeted out an article I wrote about her earlier on Wednesday. It was highly critical of her for pledging her intent to bribe both Sens. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, with $2 million each if they changed their vote on the Republican tax bill from a “yea” to a “nay.”

I did not write a single positive thing about the affair in the article.

I called it “desperate,” because she’s trying to change the outcome of a vote she literally has no control over through legal means, and “contradictory,” because she has been very vocal about getting money out of politics and overturning Citizens United.

But, most of all, I articulated why she could have violated a federal crime, specifically Title 18 USC 201, which deals with bribing public officials.

Theoretically, she could face prison time of up to 15 years and could pay a hefty fine well into the tens of millions of dollars.

Why would she publicize this story on Twitter?

To be honest, I don’t have the faintest idea why she’d post a negative story about herself. Maybe she revels in people hating on her as it might embolden her and her fans to only do more of what she’s already doing (i.e. parading their intent to bribe public officials). Or, is she actually conceding to committing a felony and is fessing up to it?

Right now, your guess is as good as mine.

If 2017 taught me anything, it was to expect the unexpected. I definitely did not expect this.
