Melania Trump to address cyberbullying summit in Maryland

First lady Melania Trump will address cyberbullying at a Maryland event next week.

Trump will deliver remarks on “the positive and negative effects of social media on youth” as part of her “Be Best” initiative, the White House announced Thursday.

Trump will also attend a panel discussion with representatives from several social media platforms as part of the Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Cyberbullying Prevention Summit taking place on Monday in Rockville.

The first lady has encouraged positive social media habits among children and teens while her husband has been in the White House.

She has acknowledged she’s aware of questions about whether the president’s use of Twitter to attack his critics has contradicted her initiative, but said the skepticism won’t stop her from tackling cyberbullying.
