The New York City Police Department is investigating more than a dozen shootings that took place in 24 hours.
Authorities say at least 19 people have been injured during shootings Saturday across the city’s boroughs.
One incident in Brooklyn left a man dead. Surveillance video shows a 35-year-old man washing his tires as he is approached by a suspect who pulls out a gun and shoots the man in his neck.

In another shooting, a 42-year-old woman in the Bronx was shot in the leg as she ran from a suspect with a gun. She reportedly drove herself to the hospital.
“This is extremely alarming and concerning during a time where we are really pushing to end violence in our city and our communities, to have 19 people shot, 13 shootings is something we need [to] take extremely seriously,” Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said of the shootings.
The violence comes as the city sees a spike in shootings following the New York City Police Department disbanding the plainclothes unit last Monday.
There were 28 shooting incidents with 38 victims from last Monday to Friday, compared to only 12 during the same week last year, according to the New York Post.
New York City has experienced protests, and in some cases, riots, following the death of George Floyd. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died on Memorial Day after a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes despite his pleas for air.
