Lawmakers to probe Olympic doping

A House panel is looking at the struggles with combating doping in international events such as the Olympics, after revelations last year of a state-sponsored doping scheme in Russia.

A subcommittee of the House Energy & Commerce Committee will hold a hearing next Tuesday on ways to improve the anti-doping system. The panel noted that the subcommittee is holding the hearing following last summer’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and before the 2018 winter games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
