In what is perhaps his lamest video since the very lackluster “Laura” ad during the Wisconsin recall, President Barack Obama’s newest video focuses on a single issue: I NEED MORE MONEY.
In the ad the Fundraiser-In-Chief is videotaped sitting at a desk, demonstrating how any Americans can take their hard earned cash and give it to his re-election campaign. The POTUS – looking quite hip, using a wireless mouse and a shiny Macbook – guides viewers through the entire donation process, quipping that “I have cleared this with Michelle, I want everybody to know.” At one point, he is even kind enough to highlight the ease at which one can make donations.
“This is all pretty, uhh, pretty convenient,” remarks Obama, as he enters his information.
Then why do you need to make a two-minute video to explain it?
Perhaps the most humorous line in the video is when the President attempts to use the fact that Americas are giving organizations affiliated with GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign more money than his campaign as a basis for attacking Republicans’ large political donors.
“We don’t get some of the massive checks that the other side does,” said Obama. “But, we have this incredible grassroots network.”
Well, besides that massive $1 million dollar check from Bill Maher.
Or the $2 million from the dinner fundraiser at Sarah Jessica Parker’s NYC apartment.
And let’s not forget that cool $15 million from that party at George Clooney’s house.
The Democratic Party’s far-fetched fundraising emails and desperate videos featuring President Obama doing damage control are obviously part of a growing concern by the Obama 2012 campaign that the GOP will raise more money than their candidate yet again this month. The American people are clearly m0re hesitant to finance Obama’s campaign than they were in 2008.
What the Obama 2012 campaign and the various Democratic Party committees fail to realize, however is that President Obama is in danger of being outraised by Mitt Romney because his policies have not worked, and now the American people are looking for an alternative to his failed administration. No number of desperate fundraising emails will change that.
