Bristol Palin bashes ‘mega-celebrities’ who won’t perform at Trump’s inauguration

Bristol Palin, the adult daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, is taking A-list celebrities to task for refusing to perform at President-elect Trump’s inauguration.

“If Donald Trump were still just a regular old billionaire and threw a party at Trump Tower in New York City, celebrities would be lined up out the door, and the most famous artists would be pining for a chance to perform,” Palin wrote in a blog post Wednesday. “But because he will be inaugurated as the next Republican president in January, these same mega-celebrities, who would normally drool over an invitation to sing for the president, want no part of it.”

Palin, who married Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer over the summer, said performers are either devout progressives and will not support a conservative or they are “too scared to stand for what they believe in!”

Thus far, Elton John, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, the Chainsmokers, Garth Brooks, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Aretha Franklin, David Foster and KISS have all turned down Trump’s invitation to perform in front of millions.

While Palin is unhappy about the double standard, she said it is these performers’ right to turn down Trump’s request.

“But this is what’s great about America; You’re allowed to say no. And these A-listers declining the invitation has opened up a chance for someone who really needs it,” Palin said.

Instead, 16-year-old Jackie Evancho, winner of “America’s Got Talent,” will perform the National Anthem to kick off the festivities. Since announcing she will sing at the ceremony, her sales have significantly increased, making her the “youngest solo artist to ever go platinum.
