Jesse Byrnes of The Hill writes that:
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg admits to sharing some wine with her colleagues and not being “100 percent sober” for President Obama’s State of the Union address in January.
Justice Ginsburg’s name might be linked to all sorts of bad decisions, but it is hard to find fault with her on this one. How anyone can get through that exercise in empty pomp, partisan tedium, and shameless boasting that the State of the Union has become without the aid of strong drink is a wonder. Anyone able to endure the whole, pointless thing cold sober is surely not to be trusted.
Justice Ginsburg neither young nor physically formidable so a little wine would be sufficient for her.
Next time, whiskey for everyone else in attendance. And put it on the tab that is known, around Washington, as the “deficit.”
