Baltimore County bridge isclosing

The aging Dunk Freeland Road in Baltimore County closed this week for repairs that are expected take about seven months to complete, officials said. The two-span bridge, built in 1920, crosses Little Deer Creek, south of Harris Mill Road.

Traffic will be detoured to Harris Mill, Lentz, Old York and Bond roads during construction. The bridge is scheduled to re-open March 1.

The new structure, which officials said will carry 500 cars daily, will be one span, 3 feet longer and 2 feet wider than the existing bridge.

The project will cost $528,000.
