Democratic Rep. Jim Himes suggests more C-SPAN, less Fox News to caller asking about Obama’s failures

C-SPAN welcomed Democratic Rep. Jim Himes on “Washington Journal” Wednesday morning and the Connecticut congressman was less than prepared for a call he received on the show.

A man from Michigan called in to the show with a lengthy list of failures during the Obama administration which he asked Himes to defend. Among them were Benghazi, the NSA, Bowe Bergdahl, and the IRS scandal.

“Any other president would have been laughed out of office by now if he’d have been a Republican,” the caller stated. “This guy gets away with murder!”

Himes had a smirk on his face for most of the list, but tried to remain calm and respond to the caller’s request — that didn’t last very long. He ultimately called the caller’s list “utter bologna.”

“I will try to attend to — actually, I’m not going to,” the Congressman said. “Look, with all due respect, Bob, maybe a little more C-SPAN and a little less Fox News. That was the grab bag of everything that Fox News and my friends on the Republican Caucus of the House in particular have tried to hang on the president.”
