Too thin
When a reporter suggested to House leaders last week that the bipartisanship surrounding the economic-stimulus bill reminded him of the camaraderie between former leaders Tip O’Neill and Bob Michel, they reminded him that the similarities ended there.

Speaking to Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, and other top members, Fox News’s Chad Pergram wondered if the two were trending toward the direction of the famously simpatico O’Neill and Michel, who were speaker and Republican leader, respectively, in the ’80s.
“There’s less of them,” quipped Hoyer about the current crop, in a sly allusion to the former leaders’ ample weight.
Boehner, not to be outdone, compared himself to Michel, adding, “Well, my tie covers my belt buckle.”
