Hoyer questions Trump meetings

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer Monday said he is “deeply concerned” about a report that President-elect Trump lobbied the president of Argentina about one of his projects.

The Argentine paper La Nacion reported that during a congratulatory call from Argentinian President Mauricio Macri, Trump asked Macri to ease the way for an office building Trump has been trying to build in Buenos Aires.

According to other news reports, Trump last week met with Indian business partners, although the Trump team denied any business was discussed.

“Reports of his meeting with Indian business representatives and reports that he used a phone call with Argentinean President Mauricio Macri to lobby on behalf of a Trump-branded building project are, if accurate, unacceptable behavior for the incoming president of the United States,” said Hoyer, D-Md.
