Let’s get this party started,” shouted comedian and actor Chris Tucker  to kick off the U.S. Dream Academy’s 10th anniversary gala at the Ritz Carlton on Wednesday night. Also on hand: Emcee, founder and gospel singer Wintley Phipps; entertainers Jennifer Holliday, Peabo Bryson, Keyshia Cole and CynneSimpson; Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah and Reps. Zach Wamp, R-Tenn., and Elijah Cummings, D-Md.

As for the congressmen, both said they prefer Phipps’ music … but that’s not to say they don’t have a funky side.

Cummings revealed his desire to join the Temptations. He’s not just drawn by their amazing Motown looks and foxy sex appeal. He confessed a longing to bust a Temptation walk or two. “I admit some of my moves are from 1975,” he said.  “I need to dust them off.”

Wamp had a different aspiration. “No doubt, I would want to be Bono.” Now that would be a beautiful day.

As for Tucker, the “Rush Hour” star grew dismayed at all the hardware being passed around on stage. “You forgot to give me an award, so I stole one,” he quipped.

Later that night, Tucker was spotted at Fly Lounge.
